LOUISVILLE, Ky.–As impressive as today’s robots are, engineers are no further along in their use on the battlefield than the Wright brothers were at Kitty Hawk . And, much like early aviators wouldn’t have been able to predict the way air travel has transformed how we work and live today, the impact of increased robotic warfare will surely lead us in directions we can’t (yet nevertheless must try to) comprehend. Such were the assertions made here by Peter Singer , head of the Brooking Institution ’s 21st Century Defense Initiative. [More] Robot – Wright brothers – Robotics – Companies – Technology

Rhinestones have an exquisite sparkle and brilliance that can be used to adorn jewelry, clothing and accessories. Even the simplest items can be transformed into glamour using them.
The rhinestones of the highest quality are made in Europe—specifically Austria and Czech Republic. Made from leaded glass crystal, they are far superior to the plastic rhinestones found in today’s market. The difference can be seen in the sparkle and long life of the genuine stones. Even after decades, a real crystal rhinestone will not lose its brilliance and shine. Rhinestone jewelry made in the 1930’s and 1940’s has survived today and still looks gorgeous.
In 1775 George Fredrich Strass discovered a way to coat the clear stones from the Rhine River wit ha foil backing. The result was a gorgeous stone that could easily be mistaken for a diamond! Glass crystals came to replace the river stones eventually. In 1892 they went mainstream with Daniel Swarovski received a patent for his machine which automatically cut the stones with uniformity and precision. This meant that rhinestones were now affordable for all. To this day, Swarovski is the largest maker of rhinestones in the world.
Rhinestones are available in every conceivable color, size and shape. They are used in costumes, formal wear and other pieces of special clothing such as wedding gowns. Swarovski makes a plethora of flat-backed rhinestones which can easily be attached to almost any type of fabric with glue or by sewing them on.
When buying your rhinestones, be sure your seller is trustworthy. Make sure before you place your order that you are getting genuine crystals from Austria or Czech republic. Remember: If you’re getting a deal that is too good to be true, it probably is.
Most companies making rhinestones also make crystal beads. Swarovski has an enormous line of beads in all shapes, sizes and colors. You’ll find them in all kinds of handcrafted jewelry and accessories. Crafters all over the world have come to rely on these beads for their very best projects.
When it comes to using rhinestones, your only limit is your imagination. Have fun working with these crystals and beads to create one-of-a-kind clothing and accessories that will stop any show.
Other than the Rhinestones, you can also look at Hot Fix Crystals
